| The Red Tailed Hawk is the most commonly seen bird of prey in the Antelope Valley. It is a large dark brown bird with an off white underbelly and underwing. As an adult, it has red tail feathers. Rabbits, squirrels, mice, and rattlesnakes are the favortie food of the Red Tail Hawk. This bird is most commonly seen perched on the top of power or telephone poles.
